AntiFungal Activity Against Candida 

Another amazing study on Apple Cider Vinegar. It often gets a bad wrap because of the life bacteria in it. But this study tested 18 samples... I know it wasn't a lot, but really how many samples do you need to see something happening? Right?

- 13 (72%) of them were positive for fungal growth
- 6 were Aspergillus niger
- 1 was Aspergillus flavus
- 2 were Candida albicans
- 4 were Non- Candida albicans.




Apple cider vinegar(5%) inhibits growth of Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Candidaalbicans and Non- Candida albicans with average diameter of inhibition zones of 15mm, 13mm, 17.5mm, 17 mm respectively, while the average diameters noted with acetic acid 2% were 10.5mm, 11mm, 13mm, 13.5mm respectively.

Fluconazole {a medicine that is used to treat fungal infection} (5mg/ml) inhibits growth of the Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus with average diameters of 14mm,20mm respectively,while cause no inhibition of Candida albicans and Non- Candida albicans.

The Conclusion: Apple cider vinegar and acetic acid have significant antifungal activity at the tested concentrations against Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, AND fluconazole resistant Candida albicans and Non- Candida albicans!!

Clinical studies are also underway in Australia, Japan, Europe and India using esential oils against Candida. The present study indicates that clove oil and eugenol have considerable antifungal activity against clinically relevant fungi, including fluconazole-resistant strains, deserving further investigation for clinical application in the treatment of fungal infections.

Even though self love is not one of my strengths I am learning to be okay with this. 

Even though I don't know how to love myself, that I've always had trouble with this, that I feel incapable of directing love to myself I am learning that love comes in many forms

Even though I feel unlovable, I know that I am loved. 

Even though I feel like there is something wrong with me, and I feel like I am destined to be this way for the rest of my life, I am okay with who I am. 

Even though I was never taught to love myself, I am open to new possibilities because I am ready to learn. 

Even though I am not sure how to start directing love towards myself, part of me is looking forward to walking down a different path. 

Even though I am my toughest critic, part of me appreciates the honestly I am sharing and the courage in my soul will carry me through this. 

Even though today has been hard, I feel determined to stand stronger, make small shifts, and I will learn how to love myself more each day.

The Healing Of A Tooth

A few months ago I started having severe pain in my back tooth, so much worse if I ate anything sweet, including just a bit of fruit. So I finally took a photo with the smart phone and sigh, I had a cavity.I started to do a sort of coconut oil scrub on my tooth before brushing. This is the recipe: 

4 tbsp. Coconut Oil
2 tbsp. Baking Soda (aluminum free)
1 tbsp. Xylitol  
20 drops Clove essential oil
20 drops Himalayan salt

I scrub it on for about a minute or two. I tried oiling pulling but I get through about two minutes before I just can't take it any longer. 

And then I brush with my natural toothpaste, and do a xylitol mouth rinse with one drop of the Protective Blend Essential oil in it. Spicy, but I love it. 



It's slow, it's not probably what others may want to do, but my teeth are getting whiter, and I have no more pain, which that alone has been worth the experience. I will go to the dentist again, I just need to find one I trust with my allergies and latex allergy... but until then I do feel like I am protecting my teeth from any further damage. And that is super important to me. 

Opinions Are No Longer Free

It used to be that you could say that you used a product and it worked amazing for you.

It used to be that you could cheer for something that you were passionate about.

It used to be that you could share clinical data with others to help them with their disorders.

But even as that is your own opinion, your own passion, your own experience and backed by proven data there are those in the system that are on a witch hunt. This is turning the world of Essential Oils upside down. I have seen a lot of hub bub out there today over the compliance changes for one of the big three essential oil direct sales companies today, and I have to tell you that if I were a rep for that company I would be nervous that I had so many "cannot' do items and so little right to my own opinion. We join these companies because we are passionate about their products, and yes, they have to protect their brand. Right?

But when you join it's your business, and your opinion to share your stories. Those stories are what connects people to your brand. If you cannot even link your blog or social media website to your company website, you can only use company approved claims. Doesn't sound like a sound business idea. But I get it. But here is the deal. You should still have the right to your opinion. But just know, you can't use their name.

I know everything... but sorry I can't tell you about it. ;) 



So this is the day and age that we are in. With companies having to tighten down the hatch and thus you can't use their NAME, or even LINK to their website for fear that some government agency will come along and close their doors.

I find it completely sad and silly in fact.

People don't believe it when they see some post that tells them the number one killer in Africa could have been cured with one little drop of clove and frankincense, do they?

Well at least not anyone that has educated themselves at all on the essential oils.

So why not just look for those that are claiming to cure without the back up of clinical data. I love clinical data for a huge reason... it was proven.

But what about a company that is allowed to say that they offer "natural" foods. Or even worse that they aren't required to tell you that they are selling you genetically modified foods. Or that you are inhaling toxins in your home and that it could be deadly in the long term.

No... instead we just don't talk about it. They are okay and good to go by the agency agendas.

Vaccines and implications to those with burdened immune systems, epigentic mutations or methylation disorders? Those aren't talked about. We can't talk about anything that isn't approved.

The APA saying that children should be fed organic? No one (even most pediatricians) aren't even talking about that. So stop trying to say that organics are better will you!

This is where we are heading. No opinions. No choices.

And every day they are growing because people are increasingly using essential oils. I am sure there are a bunch I've missed.

So how do you know which company is right for you?

It's not that different from dating. You want to know about the company, where do they source their oils from, you want to know if you are a fit for the team if you are joining the team, and you want to know that if you do join that you can make some money.

Did I just say that?

Yes, you should make some money if you are going to sell a product. Otherwise you are just getting a discount. Keep that in mind when trying to determine what your real why is for looking into a company.

And just because you think something isn't for you, I always say explore it and research. I didn't want to date my husband initially. Thank GOODNESS he won me over! He is my soulmate!! The love of my life!

My relationship with essential oils once I tried them is very true to my own relationship with my husband. On our second date I knew I was going to marry my husband. Truly I did. When something works, it just does.


Initially I didn't even want to try essential oils. I didn't want to go out with my husband either. So there you go. Went to a party, there were a ton of aromas, got a headache and thought, "Wow!! This isn't what I need around my house."

Of course when my daughter started having severe asthma and was put on daily steroids and I saw that impact, I had to try something natural. But for my daughter, I knew it had to be the best.

Do I always only use this one brand?

Not always. I have sources that I've gotten from the industry for oils that this company just doesn't offer you. But when it comes to that basic must have oils, they are my go to for myself and my family. Certified, batch tested and I have instant results to all of that information. That is something I love.

Boy Can That Doggy Smell

No, I am not talking about the fact that my dog needs a bath, in a big way. What I am talking about is how to use essential oils with your animals. I get asked all the time about using essential oils with dogs. Especially here in my hometown of Seattle Washington where there are more dogs than children.

But even more so than children, we need to remember that animals are different. And dogs noses have the Olfactory receptors that we could never understand. 300 million to our 5 million. So when you think essential oil dilution for a child for your aromatherapy, really think big about dilution for your animal for aromatherapy. A little will truly go a long way. 

Also not every essential oil is something that should be used on your dog. So you need to make sure that you taking care to talk to a good natural vet about how to properly use essential oils with your dog.
