Bring On The Peaceful Child... Or Household

Marjoram essential oil is valued for its calming properties and positive effect on the nervous system and has become a favorite oil in our house. I love this oil because it can not only help calm the crazy beasts, but after two hours of homeschool skating it can also help soothe my tired, stressed muscles and supports my healthy system. Marjoram is definitely an oil that you will gravitate towards for relaxation once you have used it a few times. It is a go to oil for me and for my husband, the machine. LOL. He's got pins in one shoulder and an entire set of metal in his one leg. He's been pinned together, but still keeps on going lifting those heavy weights every morning. Here is my favorite spray blend recipe that I use with my husband's sore muscles or to relax when he's working on a project over the weekend. It's great to apply on the back of the neck to help bring up some more relaxed emotions, clearing out some of the Chakra blockages.

15ml Spray Bottle
15 drops of Melaleuca Essential Oil
5 drops of Marjoram Essential Oil
15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Fill the rest of the bottle with Fractionated Coconut Oil or other carrier oil

Most people I know associate marjoram with spicy foods, but with sweet pine and citrus flavors as well it pairs well with any cooking where you would use oregano and offers many additional internal and external benefits. It's herbaceous flavor can be used to spice up a hearty chili, fresh salad dressing, roasted vegetable soups, and the essential oil can take the place of dried marjoram when cooking but of course starting with one drop and then tasting. I also like to add it at the end of before serving. Generally, one drop of Marjoram essential oil is equivalent to two tablespoons of dried Marjoram.

Beyond its culinary benefits, Marjoram can be taken internally to help support a healthy cardiovascular and immune system. We use it mostly added to a carrier oil topically or add it to the diffuser at night for its calming properties. It's smell invokes warmth and that feeling of being out in nature and helps promote a calming atmosphere. It's an essential oil for any sort of peaceful blend. I love that this one oil can help with those comfort and security emotional imbalances. There are so many ways that you can balance your emotions using essential oils. It's a deeply healing oil for relationships, and optimizes connections to universal energy and opening up to the greater consciousness hitting many different Chakra zones from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra. As an energy healer, or as the heart of your household, this is one oil you should always have in your natural arsenal.

I don't recommend using this essential oil during pregnancy or while trying to conceive even though NAHA states in their pregnancy guidelines that it is safe for the entire pregnancy.
